Often when we think of Security Officer’s, we picture “bouncers” at Club entrances, or those guys collecting money in their armoured trucks. But, as you’ll see by the services we provide, security officers are needed for much more than that.

Because there is such a diverse need for security, it is extremely important that officers are continuously training and improving their skills. As potential threats increase in our society, so does the need to know how to safely respond to each individual situation. In this line of work it is not a case of “one size fits all”.

Here at Rent a Cop we ensure our staff undertake monthly training to help them stay ahead of the game. Training could include workshops on improving negotiation skills, self-defence and fitness classes, and we have security inspectors who anonymously observe guards on duty. It’s this combination of training and experience that makes our officers the next best thing to the men in blue.

Crime and all its associations should be taken very seriously and where possible, we should be implementing ways to bring these statistics down. When we look at criminal occurrences it’s very clear that having a reliable and lawful means to protect yourself, your family and your possessions should be at the top of our list of priorities.
